founded Kalimba in 2019

 

I'm a New York State licensed massage therapist and graduate of the Swedish Institute in New York City.

There I gained over 1200+ hours of study related to bodywork, anatomy & physiology, internships and continuing education including certification in prenatal massage.

 

I owned and operated a massage studio in Brooklyn NY called Dharma Healing Arts for around seven years before deciding to leave the US for the Netherlands. I was drawn to Amsterdam by my Dutch roots and desire to slow life down just a little while still living in a beautiful and interesting city with lots of charm and things to do both recreationally and culturally.

Kalimba means "little music" and is the name for an African instrument that has a simple construction of wood and metal but a complex meditational tone. Life and music have a relationship that is unlike any other communication of heart, soul and progress. I wanted to pay homage to that by using this name for my studio.
